Job summary

Epoxy Coating Specialists, a Shawnee, KS based contractor, seeks a Project Accountant to integrate finance with project operations. You will manage job cost, support progress billing, and input WIP data, working with Project Managers and the Regional Controller.

The role handles high-volume, short-duration jobs and multi-month WIP on larger clients. You will track labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment, prepare payroll reports, and support month-end close while ensuring accurate revenue

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business required.
• 2-5 years of accounting experience; job cost accounting strongly preferred.
• Experience with NetSuite and Excel preferred.
• Familiarity with WIP schedules and percentage-of-completion accounting.
• Construction or field services experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Translate project data into the job cost structure in the ERP so PMs have a live budget.
• Attend kickoff meetings, reviews, and close-out calls to provide cost visibility.
• Flag cost trends, budget overruns and margin risks to the PM team.
• Collaborate on change orders, document cost impacts and ensure timely billing.
• Coordinate with estimators to compare actual vs bid assumptions.
