Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Project Accountant to own job cost accounting and billing for assigned projects, partnering closely with project management. You will manage budgets, cost codes, and contract records in our accounting system, ensuring accurate progress billings and timely lien waivers.

You will track and post job costs (labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors) and prepare the work-in-progress schedules with revenue recognition, while supporting month-end close and audits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience in construction
• Experience with job cost accounting, progress billing, and AIA billing formats
• Knowledge of work in progress schedules and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition
• Experience managing subcontractor compliance, lien waivers, and retention
• Strong Excel skills and construction accounting software (Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint, Procore)
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain job budgets, cost codes, and contract records in the accounting system
• Prepare monthly progress billings, AIA applications for payment, and lien waivers
• Track and post job costs (labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor invoices)
• Prepare and review the work in progress schedule, including revenue recognition and over and under billings
• Process subcontractor pay applications, verify insurance and compliance documents, and manage retention
• Prepare job cost reports and analyze budget to actual variances with project managers
• Process and track change orders, contract modifications, and their effect on job forecasts
• Support project closeout including final billing, retention release, and cost reconciliation
• Assist with month-end close entries, account reconciliations, and audit requests
