Job summary

JE Dunn Construction Company is seeking a Project Accountant to join their Denver/Colorado Springs team. The role involves basic to intermediate accounting duties for assigned projects, including billing, cost analysis, and reporting to support operations.

You will work closely with the project team, maintain accuracy in cost records, and ensure timely invoicing and reconciliations. A bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting and 2 years of construction accounting experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is required.
• 2 years accounting experience in construction or related industry is preferred.
• Basic understanding of construction contracts.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP/payment workflows.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze project cost accounting records and reports.
• Prepare owner billing monthly, interim, or milestone basis with supporting documentation.
• Oversee trade partner pay applications and verify billings.
• Support month-end reconciliation, including unbilled reports.
• Assist Project Manager in closing projects and audit preparation.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and documentation.
