Job summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Project Accountant to perform basic to intermediate accounting duties for assigned projects, including transactional accounting, invoicing, and financial reporting. You will support the operations team in alignment with the company’s strategy and values.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting and 2+ years of construction accounting experience. Proficiency in Excel, ERP systems, and Bluebeam Revue is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is required or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years accounting experience in construction or related industry with project cost accounting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, examines and analyzes project cost accounting records and reports.
• Performs cost transfers to accurately record job cost activity.
• Assists project team with interpreting financial KPIs.
• Prepares owner billing in compliance with contract terms on a monthly, interim or milestone basis.
• Oversees timely processing of trade partner pay applications and initial review for accuracy.
• Monitors owner payment status for contract compliance and follow-up as needed.
• Assists with month-end reconciliation and unbilled reports.
• Supports project status analyses and audits as needed.
• Helps close projects and contracts after costs are billed and collected.
