Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking a Procurement Agent to oversee procurement and delivery of materials and subcontracts from qualified vendors at favorable prices and terms.

The role reports to the Procurement Manager or Preconstruction Manager and requires coordinating bidding, prequalifications, and risk management across projects with emphasis on meeting M/W/DBE requirements and ensuring contract compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus minimum two years of related experience.
• Proven written and verbal communication abilities; proficiency with computer applications.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
• Familiarity with accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Procure materials and subcontracts from qualified vendors and subcontractors.
• Lead in subcontractor/vendor prequalification including financial analysis and reference checks.
• Establish and manage procurement schedule and attend project meetings.
• Develop bid procedures, prequalifications, and bid list approvals.
• Ensure M/W/DBE and other hiring requirements are met.
• Assist Operations in defining scope, safety, and bonding requirements for bidders.
• Review plans for deficiencies and coordinate with Project Engineer/Architect.
• Oversee bidding process and bid reviews with operations staff.
• Negotiate scope, price, and terms with vendors/subcontractors.
• Issue subcontracts and obtain insurance certificates and P&P bonds.
• Develop and monitor Risk Management plans.
• Supervise procurement staff and interns.
• Resolve disputes related to scope or change orders.
• Monitor current insurance certificates and bonds.
