Job summary

ARCO/Murray invites ambitious engineering students to join as Project Manager Interns for Summer 2027 in Austin, TX. You will assist PMs across estimating, scheduling, design meetings, buyout, submittals, reviews, and billing while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced design-build environment.

The program emphasizes mentorship, structured training, travel opportunities, and a potential $5,000 post-graduation bonus if you join full-time.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s of Engineering program or related field of study.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0.
• Prior industry internship experience is a plus.
• Extracurricular involvement is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Estimating – Describe project proposals and assign dollar values.
• Scheduling – Create a working timeline for subcontractors to complete the project on time.
• Design meetings – Attend design meetings with owner and team to understand design pro structural engineers, architects.
• Buyout – Send bid instructions, schedule, and drawings to subcontractors; receive and evaluate proposals and award subcontracts.
• Shop Drawing and Submittal Review – Review subcontractor drawings with PM and design team; communicate with subs on upcoming work.
• Billing – Work with PM to understand the business side of building; manage subcontracts, change orders, pay requests, pay applications, and cost status.
• Jobsite Visits – Visit jobsite with PM; work with Superintendents to ensure smooth progress.
• Weekly Training Sessions – Training to understand role and business operations; training occurs virtually, in-person, at jobsites, and self-guided.
