Job summary

Cupertino Electric, Inc. (CEI) offers a 10- to 12-week Internship Program designed to expose undergraduate and post‑graduate students to CEI's core markets: Commercial, Data Center, and Energy & Renewables.

Although HQ is in California, we work on projects across many states. Interns participate in phases from estimate to closeout, gain exposure to project teams, and work with field, engineering and design colleagues on real projects.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current student studying Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or similar preferred.

Responsibilities

• Estimate Phase: Creating a bid strategy, getting quotations, and writing proposal letters.
• Pre-Construction: Negotiating contract terms, creating an original budget and schedule; plan with production team for efficiency, logistics, and materials; organize documents/drawings; select subcontractors; hold a job start meeting.
• Construction: Manage materials, submittals, change orders; maintain activity logs; manage materials, vendors, and subcontractors; write RFI letters; monitor progress, costs and safety.
• Closeout: Manage closeout documents, commissioning equipment, and returning excess materials.
