Job summary

Hutton Corporation is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage the full weekly payroll process for employees companywide. You will ensure accurate, on-time pay, resolve payroll issues, protect confidential records, and collaborate with Accounting, People Operations, and department leaders.

The role requires hands-on payroll and payroll tax experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to meet recurring deadlines while maintaining professional conduct.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
• Payroll experience with full-cycle responsibility, including high-volume payroll and payroll tax work.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete weekly payroll cycle from timecard review through processing and reporting.
• Review timecards for accuracy including hours, coding, overtime, and PTO.
• Process changes to employee information, pay rates, tax withholdings, and deductions with People Operations.
• Prepare and submit certified payroll reports for prevailing wage projects.
• Prepare and reconcile 401(k) reporting and coordinate timely funding.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and respond to employee questions with discretion.
• Document procedures and identify opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency.
