Job summary

Milesresources in Western Washington is seeking a Payroll / Accounts Receivable Clerk to support our accounting team. You will process timecards, manage certified payroll, file WA prevailing-wage documents, and handle day-to-day AR activities in Vista Viewpoint.

We value accuracy, confidentiality, and strong communication as you liaise with operations and project staff to resolve questions and keep records clean. This role offers stable hours and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting or related field preferred.
• Prior union payroll, accounts receivable, or construction-office experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Vista Viewpoint (or similar construction ERP) is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Washington prevailing-wage requirements (Intents, Affidavits, certified payroll) is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills, including the ability to maintain accurate tracking spreadsheets.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and deadlines.
• Ability to handle confidential payroll and customer payment information professionally.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process employee timecards for payroll, including certified payroll.
• Enter and submit certified payroll reports per contract requirements.
• File Washington L&I Intents to Pay Prevailing Wages before work begins.
• Prepare and file Affidavits of Wages Paid on project completion.
• Maintain payroll and prevailing-wage records for audits and reviews.
• Communicate with operations staff to resolve timecard or rate questions.
• Enter customer payments into Vista Viewpoint and prepare bank deposits.
• Generate invoices for material sales and send monthly statements.
• Maintain outstanding accounts receivable spreadsheets and follow up on delays.
