Construction Operations Project Executive
Location: Salt Lake City, UT (On-site, with Travel)
A nationally respected commercial builder is seeking a Construction Operations Project Executive. This leadership position plays a key role in guiding project teams, shaping operational strategy, and ensuring excellence from pre‑construction through delivery. The role offers an opportunity to make a tangible impact by leading major builds while mentoring talent and optimizing performance on a portfolio of large‑scale, ground‑up construction initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage several project teams simultaneously, supporting execution of large‑scale commercial and industrial construction efforts.
- Own the full project lifecycle, including planning, cost forecasting, scheduling, and client engagement for each assigned project.
- Provide strategic oversight to project managers, field leaders, and technical staff to ensure alignment with performance goals and client expectations.
- Oversee risk mitigation, operational efficiency, and process improvement across all active projects within the assigned business unit.
- Partner with procurement, safety, finance, and preconstruction teams to ensure alignment across all phases of work.
- Cultivate long‑term relationships with subcontractors, developers, design teams, and local stakeholders.
- Participate in business unit planning and budgeting efforts while tracking project‑level profitability and performance metrics.
- Act as a cultural leader by promoting high standards in safety, ethics, and quality assurance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field; equivalent hands‑on experience considered.
- 10+ years of progressive construction leadership experience, with a proven track record leading large‑scale commercial projects.
- Experience managing project managers, assistant superintendents, and field operations teams across multiple job sites.
- Familiarity with cold storage, light industrial, or large commercial ground‑up construction highly preferred.
- Strong business acumen with an ability to interpret cost reports, forecasts, and budgetary data to inform strategic decisions.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a focus on team mentorship and client satisfaction.
- Comfortable with construction software and reporting tools such as Microsoft Excel and project management platforms.
- Industry affiliations and professional certifications are beneficial but not required.
