Job Description

As our Construction Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring all Project Managers maintain consistent standards across submittal management, subcontractor procurement, and schedule adherence. This role is critical to improving our operational efficiency and preparing the company for sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Management Oversight: Supervise and mentor Project Managers to ensure adherence to company standards and procedures
• Submittal Management: Implement and oversee standardized systems for tracking project submittals, ensuring timely processing and proper documentation
• Subcontractor Procurement: Oversee the project buyout process, ensuring PMs complete subcontractor and supplier procurement efficiently and effectively
• Schedule Management: Establish consistent scheduling protocols and ensure all projects maintain updated and realistic schedules
• Process Improvement: Identify operational inefficiencies and implement standardized processes to address them
• Quality Control: Ensure consistent quality standards across all projects
• Performance Tracking: Monitor key performance indicators for both projects and Project Managers
• Risk Management: Proactively identify project risks and assist PMs in developing mitigation strategies
• Resource Allocation: Optimize staff and resource allocation across multiple projects
• Software Implementation Support: Support upcoming implementation of construction management software

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in construction project management
• 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role overseeing multiple Project Managers
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, documentation, and industry best practices
• Proven track record of improving operational efficiency and standardizing processes
• Experience with implementing or managing construction management software
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Superior communication and leadership abilities
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Preferred Skills

• PMP certification or similar project management credentials
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)
• Knowledge of construction accounting principles
• Experience managing projects similar to our specialty
