Job summary

Opportunities Industrialization Center, Incorporated in Rocky Mount, NC, seeks a Construction Operations Director to lead our construction division from the jobsite and the office, ensuring projects meet schedules, budgets, and safety requirements.

You will supervise field crews, manage systems like Buildertrend, review costs, approve change orders, and handle contracts, permits, and insurance to drive project profitability.

Qualifications

• Hands-on construction trade skills and field experience.
• Experience leading commercial and residential construction operations and managing budgets.
• Proficiency with Buildertrend, Microsoft Excel, and construction-related administrative paperwork.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• This role requires a combination of office work and regular jobsite visits, including outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Set operating plans, staffing, and job priorities; work alongside crews on jobsites when needed.
• Manage existing systems, including Buildertrend, the OIC estimator, minimum profit margins, and weekly job cost reviews.
• Approve change orders within established limits and review monthly job cost reports.
• Approve and send customer invoices.
• Manage operational paperwork, including contracts, permits, insurance, licensing, compliance, and reporting.
• Oversee construction projects, budgets, procurement, and field operations to support quality, efficiency, and profitability.
