General Responsibilities:

• Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g., soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel).
• Communicate with project team members and clients regarding site conditions, project requirements, and testing results.
• Transport material samples with documentation to laboratories for testing and analysis.
• Prepare and submit data and observations in reports for daily project updates.
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
• Assist with scheduling and dispatch of technicians.
• Adhere to strict safety standards.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

• Conduct testing, observation, and inspection as trained and instructed.
• Document findings clearly and accurately.
• Perform basic data analysis to verify accuracy before reporting.
• Communicate findings to the Project Manager and team.
• Assist senior technicians with complex tasks.
• Maintain equipment and calibration.
• Follow safety procedures and report concerns.
• Maintain quality standards on all projects.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience or equivalent training.
• Proficiency with laptops, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• ACI certification in areas such as Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I, Concrete Strength Testing Technician, or Radiation Safety and Nuclear Density Gauge operation.
• Completion of safety certifications.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable record.

Preferred Certifications:

• NICET Level II in Construction Materials Testing or Geotechnical categories.
• ICC certifications in various structural and fireproofing categories.
• American Welding Society (AWS) CAWI.
• ASNT Level II in nondestructive testing areas.
