Job summary

Braun Intertec is seeking students pursuing an engineering degree, construction management, or related field for a 6-month Co-op in Bloomington, IN. Get hands-on testing of soils, concrete, masonry, and asphalt, with mentorship from a professional engineer and exposure to ASTM/AASHTO/ACI standards.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and be able to lift 75+ pounds.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• A valid driver's license and clean driving record for the last 3 years.
• Full-time commitment for 6 months from mid-May to December.
• The ability to lift 75+ pounds.
• A working safe attitude and mindset.
• The ability to work overtime and weekends as necessary.
• College student working toward an engineering degree or construction management.
• Experience driving a pickup truck or other large vehicle(s).
• Some work-related experience (landscaping, construction, farming, etc.).
• Mechanical aptitude with practical problem-solving skills.
• Some related work experience preferred, but will train top applicants.

Responsibilities

• Onsite materials testing on construction projects to ensure specifications are followed.
• Work with project managers and technicians to perform testing on soils, concrete, masonry, and asphalt.
• Gain valuable field experience and onsite communication with construction crews.
• Learn procedures and gain exposure to ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, ICC, and DOT standards.
• Be prepared to lift 75+ pounds and work outdoors in varying weather.
• Possess a safe attitude and mindset; capable of overtime and weekend work if necessary.
