Job summary

S&ME is seeking a Construction Materials Laboratory Technician for its Paducah, KY lab. This hands-on role focuses on testing soils, concrete, masonry, and asphalt materials, reporting results, and maintaining equipment under experienced supervision.

Ideal candidates have a clear understanding of testing requirements, strong math skills, and the ability to work outdoors when needed. The position offers growth, safety training, and participation in a 100% employee-owned company culture.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; vocational training is a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a construction materials testing laboratory.
• ACI Concrete Laboratory Testing Technician Level II certification is required.
• Active industry certifications such as ACI Field Testing Grade I or ICC Special Inspector are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Test and report findings of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt testing in the lab with minimal supervision.
• Maintain and calibrate testing equipment and ensure workspace cleanliness.
• May assign testing to other staff and review preliminary results to ensure accuracy.
