Job summary

Terracon seeks a Laboratory Manager to coordinate construction and geotechnical materials testing (soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt) in our Jacksonville lab. You will ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery while guiding laboratory staff in line with Terracon’s QA/QC protocols.

You will oversee staff training, equipment maintenance, and data reporting, and collaborate with project teams on proposals. A technical degree and substantial lab testing experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology or related field; 5 years’ lab testing experience, or 9 years’ related experience in lieu of a degree.
• Certification by national, regional or state authorities (ACI, NICET, DOT) in concrete, aggregates, soil or road materials is required or in-house certification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate or manage construction or geotechnical materials laboratory activities.
• Ensure testing is safe, timely, and compliant with Terracon quality protocols.
• Supervise or coordinate staff training and equipment maintenance.
• Oversee laboratory processes to meet client and project requirements and company standards.
• Lead safety efforts and promote pre-task planning on projects.
• Assist in annual department business planning and limited field testing as needed.
