Job summary

Salem Engineering Group, Inc. in Rancho Cucamonga seeks an experienced Special Inspector to perform field tests and inspections on construction materials (concrete, masonry, soils, asphaltic concrete, steel) to verify conformance with plans.

Requires 2–3 years of testing experience, valid certifications within 90 days, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel in Southern California. DOE compensation ranges $30–$45 per hour with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of construction materials testing experience.
• Must keep required certifications current.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• English speaking, reading and writing required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct special inspections for construction projects.
• Perform field samplings, inspection, and analysis.
• Perform field tests using specialized instruments and field test equipment.
• Ensure testing, sampling, or inspection is performed per guidelines and standard of care.
• Prepare daily reports and data sheets.
• Maintain cordial relationships with coworkers, clients, and contractors.
