Job summary

Kleinfelder’s Construction Services team in the Bay Area is seeking a Special Inspector to perform field inspections and materials testing to verify conformance with plans and specifications. You will prepare daily reports and collaborate with owner and contractor teams on active projects.

The role requires certifications such as ICC Special Inspector, ACI, and NDT, plus a valid driver's license and willingness to travel. A high school diploma is required, with comprehensive training provided.

Qualifications

• Must have strong initiative and ability to work independently on inspection tasks.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer use.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine to complex inspection and testing of construction materials in the field to verify conformance with plans and specs.
• Conduct routine laboratory tests on soils and concrete, including compaction curves and concrete compressive strength tests.
• Prepare daily reports and data sheets; interact with owner and contractor teams on active projects.
• Travel throughout the Bay Area of California as required.
