Job summary

Alta Environmental & Infrastructure is seeking a dependable Construction Materials Field Technician to join our Geotechnical Engineering team. This role performs field testing, sampling, inspection, and documentation to ensure compliance with project specs and standards.

Work on commercial, residential, transportation, and infrastructure projects. Candidates enjoy outdoors work, demonstrate attention to detail, and commit to safety, quality, and exceptional client service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid Arizona driver’s license and clean driving record.
• All field certifications (Nuclear Safety, ACI, ATTI) preferred but not required.
• 3+ years of experience sampling/testing soils and ABC from job sites.
• Good written and verbal skills.
• City of Phoenix tester certification or ability to secure within 6 months of hire.
• Knowledge of soil mechanics and sampling of concrete and asphalt.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Post Tension inspections including pad/trench certification, pre-slab, concrete sampling, stressing, epoxy, and grade verification.
• Perform ATTI field tests.
• Communicate with clients regarding project needs.
• Manage field equipment.
• Adhere to OSHA and company safety guidelines.
• Adhere to Alta Southwest policies.
• Complete in-house training.
• Travel locally during business days; some out-of-area travel may be needed.
