Job summary

Alta Environmental & Infrastructure is seeking a Construction Materials Field Engineer to perform on-site testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and related materials. You’ll document results, ensure compliance, and support project teams in diverse environments.

Ideal candidates have geotechnical/materials testing experience, field certifications (Nuclear Safety/ACI/ATTI preferred), and the ability to operate testing equipment and travel to sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or OH&S (or a high school diploma with certifications).
• Experience in geotechnical and construction materials testing.
• Field certifications: Nuclear Safety, ACI, ATTI preferred.
• City of Phoenix tester certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Ability to operate and maintain testing equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and communication.
• Willingness to travel to construction sites with valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing and inspections of soils, concrete, asphalt and related materials.
• Document test results accurately and report in a timely manner.
• Maintain and calibrate testing equipment for accuracy and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with project specs and safety protocols on site.
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors and team members.
