Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking a motivated Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to join our Fort Worth team. No experience is required; paid training is provided and you’ll learn under experienced professionals to safely perform field observations, sampling, and testing of soils, aggregates, and concrete.

You'll develop knowledge of CMT principles, ASTM standards, and certifications in soils, concrete, and radiation safety while supporting project managers and crews on site.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
• Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
• Must have the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and follow all local and state laws, road regulations, and company policies.
• Willing to develop understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
• Willing to obtain knowledge of CMT principles and applications, as well as ASTM laboratory standards, leading to certifications in soils, concrete, and radiation safety.
• OSHA 10 certification may be required.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Field Activities: Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of materials on project sites; follow project requirements under supervision.
• Testing Procedures: Conduct routine field and/or laboratory tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete using various methodologies and equipment.
• Data Collection: Perform calculations and data reduction based on sampling, test results, and inspection; assist with calculations, drafting, and admin tasks as requested.
• Communication: Maintain daily communication with site contractors, fellow technicians, and project managers; report changes and testing requests to supervisor; attend project meetings as requested.
• Training and Development: Receive training in ECS methodology for project observations, inspections, and testing; document findings with precision per engineering practices.
