Job summary

M. J. Electric, LLC, a Quanta Services company, seeks a Construction Manager to oversee utility and civil projects from preconstruction through closeout. You will lead field operations, ensure safety, schedule, and budget adherence, and serve as the liaison between management and on-site teams.

The role requires 10+ years in construction management and a related degree. You’ll manage subcontractors, develop budgets, schedules, and drive QA/QC and client communications.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of construction management experience.
• Experience managing subcontractors, schedules, and client relationships.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and field experience.
• Familiarity with utility, electrical, gas, telecom, or civil construction projects preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods, safety regulations, and quality control processes.
• Proficiency in project scheduling and reporting software.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Review project drawings, specifications, and designs for constructability, identifying conflicts, risks, and construction challenges before work begins.
• Develop detailed project budgets and production units; prepare subcontractor RFP packages.
• Develop detailed project schedules and construction work plans with the Superintendent and PM; coordinate sequencing to maximize productivity.
• Verify BOM against project drawings; coordinate with procurement for accurate ordering.
• Serve as central point of coordination among project team, client representatives, subcontractors, and field operations; onboarding and monitoring.
• Prepare and maintain progress, cost, schedule, and material usage reports to support planning and performance analysis.
• Promote a culture of safety and quality; conduct site safety audits and enforce safety requirements.
• Identify project risks and deficiencies; participate in lessons-learned reviews.
