Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Construction Manager to lead on-site construction activities in a fast-paced design and delivery environment, coordinating with owners, contractors and design professionals. You will manage schedules, QA/QC, safety, and closeout documentation while ensuring conformance with contract documents, codes and occupancy requirements.

• Thorough knowledge of construction principles, techniques and procedures.
• Ability to discuss project issues with contractor, team and clients and resolve conflict.
• Strong organizational skills and effective written and verbal communication.
• Experience with critical path method scheduling.
• Ability to manage safety controls and promote a safe workplace.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily onsite construction activities with owner, contractors, design professionals and clients.
• Develop and enforce project schedules, monitor deviations, and recommend schedule changes.
• Ensure compliance with contract documents and codes; follow up to resolution.
• Schedule reviews and inspections; maintain records of work completed and inspected.
• Report construction status to project team; manage QA/QC processes.
• Ensure cost, schedule and quality standards are met; monitor occupancy requirements.
• Prepare final closeout documentation and maintain project file management.
• Mentor construction administration staff; support design management.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, construction management, or a related field
