Job summary

DVJ Consulting Engineers in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead inspection, enforce contract compliance, and coordinate multi-phase public works projects. You will prepare change orders, maintain daily logs, and manage budgets and schedules to ensure timely delivery.

The role requires a CA-licensed PM or CM, familiarity with Greenbook/Caltrans standards, and proven ability to interpret plans and specifications.

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college with a major in Civil or Construction Engineering.
Licensed professional in California, and/or Certified Construction Manager.
Familiarity with Greenbook and Caltrans standards and their use.
Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
Experience with contract administration and project coordination.

Responsibilities

Perform construction inspection and enforce contract compliance under supervision.
Prepare change orders, logs, payments records, and as-built plans.
Arrange materials testing and construction staking by Department staff.
Respond to inquiries from public officials and other agencies via project management staff.
Coordinate construction with project teams and manage project budgets/schedules.
Prepare project meeting agendas, run meetings, and record minutes.
Monitor cost and schedule performance; coordinate close-out activities.
Review contractor submittals and recommend approvals or changes.
