Job summary

Strekte Group, a Brooklyn-focused ground-up developer, seeks a Construction Manager to own projects end-to-end from permitting to handover. You will command the project with minimal support, overseeing budgets, schedules, and field teams while coordinating with GCs, engineers, and city agencies.

Ideal candidates deliver 5 ground-up projects, including at least two high-rise structures above 12 stories, and communicate decisively with ownership.

Qualifications

• 10+ years as direct lead PM on ground-up projects
• 5 ground-up projects delivered from permitting through CO/ handover
• At least 2 projects high-rise above 12 stories
• Full ownership of budgets and schedules
• Deep knowledge of NYC DOB filings, inspections, sign-offs
• Strong command of construction management software
• Direct, decisive communicator with ownership-level autonomy

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead accountability on assigned ground-up projects from permitting through post-CO closeout
• Manage GC, subcontractors, expeditors, architects, engineers, and consultants
• Own budget, buyout, schedule, change orders, and requisitions; report variances to ownership
• Drive DOB filings, inspections, sign-offs, TCO/CO, and utility coordination
• Enforce quality, safety, and site logistics standards across trades
• Manage punch list, closeout documentation, warranties, and handover to operations

Strekte Group is a Brooklyn focused ground-up developer with a 20 year track record across multifamily, mixed-use, and high-rise residential. We control our projects from land acquisition through stabilization and build in house rather than outsourcing execution.

The Role

We are hiring a Construction Manager to own projects end to end as the primary operator. This is not a support seat under a senior CM. You will be the person accountable for the project, running it with minimal help, from pre-construction and permitting through TCO, CO, and handover to asset management.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead point of accountability on assigned ground-up projects from permitting through post-CO closeout
• Manage GC, subcontractors, expeditors, architects, engineers, and consultants
• Own budget, buyout, schedule, change orders, and requisitions, and report variances to ownership directly
• Drive DOB filings, inspections, sign-offs, TCO and CO, and utility and agency coordination
• Enforce quality, safety, and site logistics standards across all trades
• Manage punch list, closeout documentation, warranties, and handover to operations

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience as the direct lead project manager, operating as a sole operator with minimal support staff
• Minimum 5 ground-up projects personally delivered from permitting through CO and handover
• At least 2 of those projects high-rise, above 12 stories
• Demonstrated ownership of full project budgets and schedules, not a supporting or assistant role
• Deep working knowledge of NYC DOB filings, inspections, and sign-off process
• Strong command of construction management software, scheduling, and cost reporting
• Direct, decisive communicator who can operate with ownership level autonomy
