Job summary

Schumacher Homes is seeking a Construction Manager for our on-your-lot building operations in Charlottesville, VA. You will work directly with customers to schedule trades, oversee construction processes, and ensure high quality while meeting timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Manage on-site construction activities to build homes on time, within budget and to quality standards.
• Coordinate trades, suppliers and subcontractors for smooth progress.
• Interface with customers to align expectations and update progress.
• Participate in pre-construction meetings with management and homeowners.

Construction Manager:

• Must be proficient in understanding residential construction systems.
• Is responsible for working with the customer to build their dream home, schedule trades and ensure the home is built with attention to quality, meeting building time expectations and exceeding homeowner satisfaction!
• Builds assigned homes within time, cost, quality and satisfaction standards.
• Participates in pre-construction meeting with General Manager, Customer Coordinators and homeowners.

Requirements

• Prior scattered-site residential construction experience (preferred).
• Technical construction knowledge to understand construction processes and terminology to assist in management of field personnel and systems.
• Computer experience - the ability to use technology (Smart Phone, I-Pad). Experience with Microsoft Outlook for email correspondence.
