Job summary

North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, ND, seeks a full-time, 9-month position to teach Construction Management Technology courses with emphasis on commercial construction.

Responsibilities include teaching, evaluating students, preparing lesson plans, curriculum development, professional development, advising, recruiting, and serving on committees. Requires an associate degree and 3+ years field experience; favorable to a bachelor’s degree and CM/PM experience.

Qualifications

  • Requires an associate degree in Construction Management Technology or related field.
  • Minimum of three years relevant construction field experience.
  • Must be able to work in a team and meet department needs.
  • Willingness to secure North Dakota CTE certification.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and evaluate students in Construction Management Technology with emphasis on commercial construction.
  • Prepare lesson plans and develop curriculum.
  • Lead professional development activities and advise students.
  • Recruit students and participate in committees and college activities.

Job description

Full-time, 9-month, benefited position

Primary responsibilities include teaching and evaluating students in the Construction Management Technology courses with an emphasis on commercial construction. Other responsibilities will include preparing lesson plans, curriculum development, professional development, advising students, student recruitment, and participating in assigned departmental, divisional and college committees and activities.

Minimum Requirements
  • Associate degree in Construction Management Technology or a related field
  • Minimum of three years relevant field experience in construction
  • Flexibility to meet the needs of all students and department requirements
  • Must support mission, vision, and values of NDSCS
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to function in a team environment
  • Willingness to secure ND Career & Technical Education (CTE) certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management or a related field
  • Construction field supervision and/or project management experience
  • Construction estimating and scheduling experience
  • Construction software experience (Bluebeam, Procore, or similar)
  • Extensive knowledge of materials and methods used in commercial construction.
  • Knowledge of building systems
  • Teaching or training experience
SALARY:

Starting at $59,163, commensurate with education and experience
