Job summary

Western Carolina University invites applications for an Associate/Full Professor of Construction Management. The position is tenure-track with an anticipated August 2027 start and requires teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels, advising students, and developing an active research program.

The department emphasizes industry engagement and applies project-based learning within ABET-accredited programs, with opportunities for service and collaboration through the Rapid Center.

Qualifications

• Possess an earned doctorate or equivalent terminal degree in construction management, construction engineering, civil engineering, architecture, architectural engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Rank of Full Professor with tenure at their current institution or a minimum of 5 years at the rank of Associate Professor with tenure.
• Excellence in teaching and scholarship based on the Boyer Model of Scholarship with a focus on undergraduate student research.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses across construction management and engineering topics.
• Advise students and supervise undergraduate research and activities.
• Develop and sustain a productive program of research and scholarship.
• Engage in university and professional service and external engagement with industry partners.
