Job summary

Construction/Maintenance Techn position within the 805 Department of Rehabilitation Services, located at the Oklahoma School for the Deaf (OSD) in Sulphur. The role covers building upkeep, minor repairs, and trades work requiring no license, with travel possible where needed.

Typical duties include carpentry, plumbing, electrical and HVAC maintenance, plus security device work and foundation repairs. Strong preference for two years in building trades or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in one or more building trades or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs carpentry work in construction or renovation of buildings; erects scaffolds, fences, forms, frames and doors.
• Installs, replaces and maintains plumbing fixtures; handles basic piping and fixtures repairs.
• Maintains and repairs electrical and HVAC equipment and controls; troubleshoots non-licensed fixes.
• Installs and maintains locks; changes tumblers and keys; uses hand tools for security devices.
• Constructs and repairs foundations, walls and walkways; lays bricks and mortar as needed.
• Operates and maintains construction machinery and equipment such as trucks, tractors, mowers and shovels.
