Job summary

Northern Trust in Chicago seeks a seasoned commercial real estate finance professional to administer construction loans, underwrite risk, and advise clients on bank products and regulatory changes. You will structure and negotiate complex loan agreements, monitor creditworthiness, and prepare proposals for loan committees while maintaining strong client relations.

The role requires 5+ years in CRE construction, loan administration, and client servicing, plus proficiency in Excel and banking

Qualifications

In-depth knowledge of finance and real estate lending required.
Negotiation, leadership, and sales skills are necessary to service client relationships.
Analytical skills to review credit and make recommendations.
Familiarity with banking, loan, and client management systems.

Responsibilities

Administers construction loans (commercial and residential) with real estate lending officers.
Counsels clients on products, services, regulatory changes and impacts on activity.
Keeps abreast of market trends to identify and service clients.
Structures and negotiates complex loan agreements per guidelines; assesses risks.
Defines fund release requirements and coordinates inspections for repayment.
Monitors creditworthiness; prepares proposals and presentations for loan committee.
Travels regularly to client locations.
