Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Construction Loan Administrator in Chicago to manage construction loan disbursements and coordinate lender activities. You will advise clients on bank products, regulatory changes, and market trends while supporting loan structuring and risk assessment processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in commercial or residential real estate construction, draw administration, client servicing, and lending experience.
• Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with banking, loan, and client management systems.
• Strong negotiation, leadership, and sales skills to service client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Administers construction loans (commercial and residential) with real estate lending officers.
• Counsels clients on products/services, regulatory changes, and banking implications.
• Assists in structuring and negotiating complex loan agreements per guidelines.
• Analyses risk related to real estate development: sponsor, architect, contractor, market and repayment risk.
• Defines and oversees funds release requirements at each construction stage and coordinates inspections.
• Assists in monitoring creditworthiness and presents to loan committee and policy.
• Prepares proposals and sales presentations for clients; travels to client locations.
