Job summary

Northern Trust in the United States seeks a skilled Loan Documentation professional to finalize consumer, real estate and commercial loans with strict policy compliance. You will coordinate cross‑functionally to ensure accurate terms, proper authority, and timely closings.

You will work with relationship managers, legal teams and external counsel, review documents, gather due diligence and prepare booking and collateral setups for funding and recording.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in the commercial banking/secured lending industry.
• Strong knowledge of commercial real estate and syndicated loan transactions.
• Ability to analyze documentation and identify deficiencies.
• Effective communication with attorneys, relationship managers and other parties.

Responsibilities

• Determines required legal, regulatory and policy documents to finalize loan transactions.
• Prepares legal documents using bank templates for new, renewed, and increased loans.
• Reviews organizational documents for proper authority and accuracy before closing.
• Collects borrower due diligence (KYC/OFAC, title, UCC, etc.) as needed for each loan.
• Acts as a resource to relationship teams and coordinates with legal firms and account officers.
• Prepares booking forms and collateral setups for loan funding and recording.
