Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group is seeking a construction litigation attorney with 3+ years of experience to join its downtown Chicago office. The role involves litigating complex construction disputes for owners, contractors, designers and sureties, in state and federal court, arbitration, and mediation.

The ideal candidate has solid research, writing and analytical skills, is licensed to practice in Illinois, and can manage a demanding caseload with attention to technical documents.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of litigation experience, preferably in construction, surety or commercial litigation.
• Licensed to practice in Illinois.
• Excellent research, writing and analytical skills, with ability to work on technical documents.

The Role

• Litigate complex construction disputes, including delay, disruption, defect and payment claims, on behalf of owners, contractors, designers and sureties.
• Handle matters (with some oversight) in state and federal court as well as in arbitration and mediation, from early case assessment through trial or hearing.
• Managing caseload, drafting pleadings and dispositive motions, taking depositions and some courtroom experience preferred.
• Surety experience is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of litigation experience; construction, surety or commercial litigation experience is strongly preferred.
• Licensed to practice in Illinois.
• Excellent research, writing and analytical skills, and comfort working with technical documents.
