Job summary

The Beacon Hill Staffing Group is seeking a mid-senior commercial litigation attorney to join its downtown Chicago team. The role focuses on complex commercial and contract litigation with exposure to insurance coverage disputes and high-stakes matters.

You will represent both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts, manage depositions, and work closely with clients and leadership in a collaborative environment.

A nationally recognized boutique business litigation firm is seeking a mid-senior commercial litigation attorney with 4+ years' experience to join its team in downtown Chicago, IL. This boutique litigation firm pairs large-firm experience and skill with the personalized client service and flexibility of a smaller practice. Its work centers on complex commercial and contract litigation, with a particular strength in business insurance coverage disputes, and its clients range from regional businesses to large national and international companies. The firm is highly regarded in its field and has a strong track record of results for its clients. The team values creativity, collaboration and persistence, and it prepares every case as if it will go to trial.

The Role

This is a generalist role handling complex commercial litigation matters, with a strong niche in business insurance coverage and recovery disputes.

Represent both plaintiffs and defendants in high-stakes contract, business tort and insurance coverage disputes, including bad-faith claims, in state and federal trial and appellate courts.

Gain exposure beyond traditional litigation, including arbitration, mediation, settlement counsel work, legal triage and second-opinion engagements.

Work directly with clients and firm leadership in a collaborative, team-based environment while litigating against some of the largest, best-known firms in the country.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of commercial litigation experience (taking and defending depositions); insurance coverage experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong research, writing and analytical skills, with attention to the complex contract details others may miss.
• A collaborative, creative problem-solver who enjoys working closely with clients and colleagues.
