Job summary

ACCO Engineered Systems is seeking a Real Estate Construction Lead to drive end-to-end capital projects, from planning and budgeting to completion. You will coordinate relocations, manage budgets, and oversee contractors while upholding safety and quality standards.

Based in California, this exempt, on-site role emphasizes schedule management, vendor coordination, and rigorous documentation to keep critical paths intact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field and 3+ years in commercial/industrial construction management.
• Strong understanding of construction principles, budgeting, and safety compliance.
• Excellent financial management, budgeting, reporting, and analysis.
• Proficient communication, negotiation, and vendor management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Support the management of approved budgets and related expenditures for facility-related capital improvement projects.
• Serve as project manager for renovations and improvement projects, including bidding, contract negotiation, and contractor supervision.
• Conduct regular property audits for safety and security issues, maintain security systems, and manage fire alarm, sprinkler, and crane maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, such as backflow prevention and fire escape plans.
• Coordinate with internal departments, including Safety, Accounting, and Service, on facility maintenance programs.
• Support facility relocation and manage site logistics to minimize operational disruption.
• Establish and implement daily quality control policies, conduct job progress reviews, and manage punch lists to ensure top-tier project delivery.
• Create and manage detailed project schedules (e.g., 3-week look-aheads), sequencing trades and subcontractors to maintain the critical path.
• Maintain comprehensive daily project documentation, including field reports, RFIs, material submittals, and change orders.
