Job summary

Adolfson & Peterson Construction is seeking an experienced Laborer to support safety-driven site operations in Alexandria, VA. You will prep sites, move materials, operate equipment, and assist carpenters and trades to ensure quality and timely progress.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or apprenticeship and be able to lift heavy loads, travel between project sites, and follow safety procedures. AP offers comprehensive benefits and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; apprenticeship or equivalent training completed.
• Ability to lift/move materials up to 75 pounds frequently and over 100 pounds occasionally.
• Experience using hand tools such as chippers and grinders and ability to measure correctly.
• Willingness to travel to project sites up to 70+ miles.

Responsibilities

• Take personal responsibility for working safely within an Incident and Injury Free culture.
• Support IIF efforts and reinforce the culture of care for every team member.
• Prep construction sites by clearing obstacles and hazards.
• Dig, spread, and level dirt and gravel; load and unload supplies.
• Operate pallet jack, bobcat, forklift, and hand tools as directed.
• Assist Carpenters, Operators, Masons and other trades as needed.
• Inspect work in progress to meet specifications and quality standards.
