Job summary

Adolfson & Peterson Construction seeks a Laborer in North Dakota to assist in moving and installing materials for carpenters, masons, and other trades. Safety is central in our Incident and Injury Free culture, guiding all daily activities at AP.

You will prep sites, load supplies, operate equipment, and support teams across multiple trades while upholding quality and safety standards on every project.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent training.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, rake, shovel, and move materials weighing up to 75 pounds frequently and over 100 pounds occasionally.
• Willingness to travel to project sites up to 70+ miles away.
• Ability to work in varying (sometimes extreme) climate conditions.

Responsibilities

• Take personal responsibility for working safely within an Incident and Injury Free culture.
• Support IIF efforts for a culture of care and safety across the team.
• Communicate and reinforce the tenets of an IIF workplace.
• Adhere to processes and procedures that support an IIF culture.
• Comply with company safety requirements and policies.
• Prep construction sites by clearing obstacles and hazards.
• Supply tools and materials to different areas as directed by the Foreman or trades.
• Plan ahead, inventory, and request materials.
• Load and unload supplies and materials.
• Operate a pallet jack and a partner saw.
• Signal operators of equipment to move material.
• Routinely operate a bobcat and forklift for material handling.
• Clean tools, equipment, materials, and work site daily.
• Assist with installing formwork and pouring concrete.
• Mix mortar and grout.
• Mop, brush, or spread compounds for protection or sealing.
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding following safety guidelines.
• Work at heights and climb form systems while assisting trades.
• Assist Carpenters, Operators, Masons, and other trades.
• Routinely construct and maintain temporary openings and debris removal.
• Inspect work to ensure it conforms to specs and quality standards.
• Uphold workmanship quality and safety commitments.
• Other duties as assigned.
