Job summary

MasTec, Inc. is seeking a construction laborer to assist craft workers on jobsites, maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient site. You will support the project by performing physical labor, mixing concrete, finishing surfaces, and handling tools while following safety policies.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and 6–12 months related construction experience or an equivalent combination of training. Travel to multiple sites may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 6–12 months of related construction experience.
• Or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures.
• Complete all required Safety documentation.
• Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement and adjustment of machinery to load, offload, push and pull.
• Level earth to fine grade specifications using shovel or other hand tool.
• Mix concrete or grout using portable mixer.
• Smooth and finish freshly poured concrete using float, trowel or screed.
• Position, join, align and connect pumps, motors and other mechanical or metal parts.
• Mop, brush or spread paints or bituminous compounds over surfaces for protection.
• Spray materials such as water, sand, steam, vinyl, paint or stucco through hose to clean, coat or seal surfaces.
• Apply caulking compounds by hand or with caulking gun to seal crevices.
• Grind, sand or polish surfaces such as concrete and steel, using abrasive tools or machines.
• Perform tasks involving use of hands and tools such as torqueing/tensioning bolts and studs, assembling metal parts, building bolt cages, vibrating concrete, sawing lumber, dismantling forms, removing forms from concrete, and demolitions, cleanup, use of jackhammers, etc.
• Provide assistance on the site as needed
• Perform care and maintenance of assigned tools
• Perform physical labor on construction sites
• May be required to travel to different jobsites on limited notice
• Other duties as assigned
