Job summary

Rogers Group, Inc. in Hopkinsville, KY is hiring a Paving Crew Laborer for the Western Kentucky Construction crew. The role involves prepping sites, finishing asphalt, and supporting various projects with potential extended hours, nights, or weekends. CDL holders are preferred.

Starting pay is $22.00 per hour, with higher base pay possible based on experience and skill set. This is a full-time position with extensive benefits and a focus on safety.

Qualifications

• Dedication to safe work practices.
• 1-2 years experience in construction work is preferred.
• Ability to reliably report to work daily, and on-time/early.
• Ability to perform general laborer and clean-up duties as needed/directed.
• A willingness to learn and train on new pieces of grading and asphalt equipment.
• May be called upon at the discretion of management to perform any other duties assigned and/or assist other areas as necessary.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time throughout the workday, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
• Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours as necessary.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen.Able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record and Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Complete various manual labor tasks around the job site.
• Provide directions to and take tickets from trucks and suppliers on the job site.
• Operate some heavy equipment – such as a skid steer or backhoe – as needed.
• Perform daily pre-and post- inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies. Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management.
• Effective communication skills applicable to position.
• Operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency.
• Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
