Job description

The primary focus of the Laborer is to assist all self‑perform construction disciplines in completing scheduled work. General duties include housekeeping of the site, stocking of materials, selective demolition, scaffold erection, equipment maintenance and overall self‑perform trade support. The position requires working within a 90‑mile radius of Pittsburgh, PA.

What You'll Do
  • General housekeeping and maintenance of overall site cleanliness.
  • Support self‑performing trades by stocking materials and equipment, assisting in installations, and clean‑up.
  • Safely load and unload building material deliveries and verify delivery quantities.
  • Stock deliveries to designated construction areas as required.
  • Apply knowledge of general construction activities and sequencing to assist trades.
  • Perform selective demolition safely and effectively.
  • Safely install, maintain, and dismantle site logistical items including fencing, office areas, tool trailers, material lay‑downs, and pedestrian barricades and signage.
  • Safely erect, maintain, and dismantle scaffolding systems for daily construction activities.
  • Maintain production quantities as outlined by the project schedule.
  • Respond promptly to all work requests related to general laborer activities.
  • Conduct general safety checks and equipment maintenance as required.
  • Inspect small tools to ensure proper working order and normal fluid levels.
  • Provide input on jobsite logistics, organization, layout, equipment, and manpower utilization.
  • Clean project site and maintain order with all tools and equipment.
  • Apply knowledge of foundations, building structures, and construction sequencing.
  • Perform clean‑up procedures.
  • Adhere to comprehensive project safety and security programs as defined in the company safety program and applicable safety codes and regulations.
  • Meet with the Safety Director and complete mandatory safety training prior to start of employment.
  • Perform additional tasks as necessary and/or assigned.
