Job summary

HamHed LLC is hiring two Construction Janitors to support cleaning operations at the Louisville VAMC Replacement Project in Louisville, KY. These are temporary positions for about eight months, with one Full-Time and one Part-Time opening.

Duties include sweeping, vacuuming, debris removal, final cleaning for inspection, and maintaining safe work areas in an active construction site. OSHA 10 certification is required for the project, and HamHed will assist selected candidates with certification.

Qualifications

• Experience in janitorial or construction cleaning preferred.
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• OSHA 10 certification required; HamHed will assist with certification.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, vacuum, and HEPA-vacuum construction and finished areas.
• Remove construction dust, dirt, debris, spills, stains, labels, and residue.
• Keep active work areas clean and safe for construction personnel.
• Protect newly installed floors, walls, fixtures, equipment, and finished surfaces.
• Perform final cleaning for inspection readiness.
• Follow all project safety procedures.

HamHed LLC is hiring two Construction Janitors to support cleaning operations at the Louisville VAMC Replacement Project:

• 1 Full-Time Position
• 1 Part-Time Position

These are temporary positions for an approximately 8-month project assignment. Candidates should understand that these positions are project-based and are not permanent roles.

Established in 2003, HamHed supports government facilities throughout the United States with services including janitorial and facility cleaning, floor care, window cleaning, recycling and waste management, and other facility-support services.

About the Job

This is more than traditional janitorial work. You will work in an active construction environment, helping keep work areas clean, safe, and ready for ongoing construction. As areas of the facility are completed, you will also perform detailed final cleaning to prepare those spaces for inspection and turnover. This position is a good fit for candidates with experience in janitorial work, commercial cleaning, construction cleanup, custodial services, environmental services, housekeeping, or general labor.

What You'll Do

Your responsibilities will include:

• Sweep, vacuum, and HEPA-vacuum construction and completed areas.
• Remove construction dust, dirt, debris, spills, stains, labels, and residue.
• Keep active work areas clean and safe for construction personnel.
• Protect newly installed floors, walls, fixtures, equipment, and finished surfaces.
• Clean completed surfaces without damaging installed materials.
Remove debris from concealed and limited-access spaces before areas are closed.
• Vacuum carpets and other soft surfaces.
• Clean concrete and finished flooring.
• Clean and sanitize plumbing fixtures.
• Clean light fixtures, lamps, globes, and reflective surfaces.
• Clean and polish windows, glass doors, mirrors, and other transparent surfaces.
• Clean walls, ceilings, cabinets, partitions, furniture, and other interior surfaces.
• Clean vents, registers, grilles, filters, and accessible equipment surfaces as directed.
• Remove dust and debris from areas such as above ceilings, utility chases, equipment spaces, shafts, and similar limited-access areas.
• Clean exterior paved areas and portions of the project site affected by construction.
• Perform detailed final cleaning to prepare completed areas for inspection and acceptance.
• Follow all project safety procedures and cleaning requirements.

What We're Looking For

Previous janitorial or construction cleaning experience is preferred, but candidates with other relevant hands-on experience are encouraged to apply. We’re looking for people who are:

Certification

This project requires an OSHA 10 certification. You don't need to have the certification to apply. HamHed will help selected candidates obtain the required certification and will cover the cost.

Position Details

Pay: $31.92 per hour

Location: Louisville VAMC Replacement Project – Louisville, KY

Employment: Temporary/Project-Based

Assignment Length: Approximately 8 months

Open Positions:

• Full-Time Janitor – 1 opening - Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
• Part-Time Janitor – 1 opening - Part-time schedule based on project staffing requirements

OSHA 10: Required; HamHed will assist with and pay for certification for selected candidates.

PPE: Required PPE provided by HamHed, except for required steel-toed boots.

Pre-Employment Requirements: Employment is contingent on successfully completing a drug screening and background check.

Physical & Work Environment

This position is performed on an active construction site and requires extended periods of standing and walking, as well as bending, reaching, stooping, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, sweeping, and vacuuming. Employees may encounter construction dust, debris, noise, changing temperatures, and indoor and outdoor working conditions.
