Qualifications

• Two years of experience.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Experience in project coordination/management.
• Experience in construction or electrical work.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and traffic control plans.
• Experience performing site inspections related to traffic operations, engineering projects, or utility work.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Legal right to work in the United States and ability to provide documentation.
• Current or previous City of Norfolk employee.

Responsibilities

• Ensure construction compliance with codes and safety by reading/drawing interpretation, inspections, and material evaluations.
• Provide community relations and administrative duties including responding to complaints and updating records.
• Review traffic control plans for utility work in the right of way.
• Perform routine field investigations to ensure proper traffic control and work zone safety.
• Meet with contractors to review procedures and methods of construction.
• Inspect activities on-site and maintain logs and drawings.
• Interpret City Codes pertaining to work in the right of way.
• Attend training and assist with contractor payments.
