Job summary

LJA Transportation is seeking a Construction Inspector II to oversee DOT and local government transportation projects. You will manage contracts for roadways, bridges, and related infrastructure, with attention to materials testing and documentation.

Ideal candidates bring 5–10 years’ highway inspection experience, a clean driving record, and certification like ACI Grade I and Storm Water Inspection. Travel to active sites is expected, with some non-standard hours.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience as an inspector for highway construction.
• Ability to work on active job sites safely and proficiently.
• Professional conduct representing LJA and its clients at all times.
• DMV check and clear driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor testing of construction materials.
• Compile and maintain detailed project records.
• Prepare daily logs, weather, quantities, and resources.
• Communicate with contractors, developers, and engineers.
• Perform on-site material testing and produce as-constructed sketches.
