The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is seeking a Construction Inspector to verify civil, structural, electrical or mechanical work at the Staten Island Bridges Facility in Staten Island, NY. You will coordinate with facility staff and stakeholders to minimize disruption while advancing construction.

Qualifications include a Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Architecture, four+ years of construction experience, a valid driver’s license, and ability to obtain required clearances.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Architecture from an accredited college or university.
• Four or more years of experience as an Engineer with principal experience in construction.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to be fingerprinted and pass a background check at high level.

Aufgaben

• Writing and filing daily field inspection reports for tracking all Contract work and Extra work.
• Review of construction drawings and Contract documents proficiently.
• Make field visits and perform inspections to ensure contractor compliance.
• Identifying extra work and preparing estimates and documentation for change orders.
• Assist with review of monthly Contractor invoices and payment applications.
• Assist with coordination of inspections by Materials Unit and other Engineering divisions.
• Attend construction progress meetings and record minutes and memos.
• Ensure contractor compliance with approved Construction Submittals, SARs and RFIs.
