The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is seeking a Construction Inspector for the Staten Island Bridges Facility. You will verify compliance with contract documents across civil, structural, electrical or mechanical elements, coordinating with facility staff to minimize disruption to operations while advancing projects efficiently.

Responsibilities include daily inspection reporting, drawing reviews, field inspections, change-order documentation, invoice review, and progress meeting

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering or Architecture from an accredited college or university.
• Four or more years of experience as an Engineer with principal construction experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks for security IDs.

Responsabilités

• Write and file daily field inspection reports to track contract work and extras.
• Review construction drawings and contract documents thoroughly.
• Perform field visits and inspections to ensure contractor compliance.
• Identify extra work and prepare estimates and necessary change order docs.
• Assist with review of monthly contractor invoices and payment applications.
• Coordinate inspections with Materials Unit and other Engineering divisions.
• Attend progress meetings and record minutes and memos as directed.
• Ensure contractor compliance with submittals, SARs and RFIs.
