Job summary

Greenman-Pedersen Inc (GPI) seeks motivated Construction Inspectors to join our team in West Virginia, including Martinsburg and surrounding locations. You will perform daily field inspections on bridges, roads, and utilities, read plans, and document progress with SiteManager and ProjectWise.

The role requires WV construction inspection experience or WVTRET certification (Level 1–5) with the ability to obtain within six months. Some positions may require day, night shifts or weekend work.

Qualifications

• Must possess a WVTRET Certification (any Level 1-5) or be able to obtain a WVTRET certification within 6 months of hire
• Previous construction inspection experience
• Certification in WVDOH Material Testing programs is a plus, but not required
• Familiarity with WVDOH SiteManager and ProjectWise applications
• Must be able to work independently and/or with a GPI/WVDOH Project Team
• Available to work contractor's hours, including day/night shifts and weekends

Responsibilities

• Perform daily field inspections and observations of contractor's work for heavy highway and/or bridge construction projects
• Ability to measure, compute, record, and maintain contract quantities for contractor payment
• Ability to read and interpret project plans, specifications, and standards
• Perform and/or observe material sampling and testing in accordance with project standards and specifications
• Ensure contractor's work/materials meet standards and specifications
• Document daily project progress, including work performed, conformance with plans, manpower, equipment, and quantities
• Enter and record project progress, materials, and documentation into SiteManager and ProjectWise
• Identify and communicate project issues to project managers and the contractor
• Identify, assess, and communicate unsafe conditions with the contractor
