Job summary

Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI) seeks motivated Construction Inspectors for projects across West Virginia, including Morgantown. Inspectors will assess bridges, roads, utilities, and trails, coordinating with WVDOH and internal teams.

Responsibilities include daily field inspections, measuring quantities, reading plans, collecting samples, and documenting progress. Willingness to work day/night shifts and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• Must possess a WV TRET Certification (any Level 1-5) or obtain within 6 months of hire.
• WVDOH Material Testing certification is a plus but not required.
• Familiarity with WVDOH SiteManager and ProjectWise applications.
• Must work independently and/or with a GPI/WVDOH Project Team.
• Willing to work contractor hours including day/night shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily field inspections and observations of contractor’s work for heavy highway and/or bridge construction projects.
• Measure, compute, record, and maintain contract quantities for contractor payment.
• Read and interpret project plans, specifications, and standards.
• Perform material sampling and testing per project standards.
• Ensure contractor’s work/materials meet standards and specs.
• Document daily project progress, including work, conformance, quantities, and extra work.
• Enter project progress and documentation into SiteManager and ProjectWise.
• Identify and communicate project issues to managers and contractor.
• Identify, assess, and communicate unsafe conditions on site.
