Job description

Position Summary:

Halff has an immediate opening for a Construction Inspector. This position will be located in the City of Denison, TX. The ideal candidate will have construction experience with a focus on transportation, working with or for public sector clients. This role supports the Chief Inspector by inspecting, documenting, and monitoring activities to ensure compliance with specifications, plans, and contract provisions.

Required Experience and Skills:

• Observing construction work for accuracy, proper methods, and compliance with standards and specifications.
• Performing materials testing to ensure quality.
• Managing or coordinating moderate-sized, complex tasks.
• Understanding contract documents and plans.
• Drafting daily reports, sketches, measurements, photographs, and calculations for each pay item.
• Understanding Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) requirements.
• Coordinating potential field conflicts with the Chief Inspector.
• Reviewing traffic control measures throughout the job site.

Minimum Requirements:

• 3-5 years of inspection experience on TxDOT or other DOT projects.
• Understanding of construction standards and practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility to travel to construction sites and work outside normal hours.
• Self-directed, team-oriented, with a focus on quality, integrity, and success.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License.
