Halff has an immediate opening for a Construction Inspector. This position will be located in the City of Denison, TX. The ideal candidate will bring construction experience with a focus on transportation, working with or for public sector clients. This position will support the Chief Inspector by working with contractors to inspect, document, and monitor activities to ensure compliance with specifications, plans, and other contract provisions.

The most suitable candidate should have experience with the following:

• Observing construction work for accuracy, proper work methods, and compliance with applicable standards and specifications.
• Performing materials testing to ensure quality.
• Managing work or coordinating tasks of moderate size and complexity.
• Understanding contract documents and plans.
• Drafting daily work reports, sketches, measurements, photographs, and calculations for each pay item.
• Understanding Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) requirements.
• Coordinating potential field conflicts with the Chief Inspector.
• Reviewing traffic control throughout the job site.
• Requirements:
• 3-5 years of inspection experience on TxDOT or other DOT projects.
• Understanding construction standards and practices.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Flexibility to travel to construction sites for extended periods and work outside of normal business hours.
• Must be a self-directed team player with a focus on quality, integrity, and success.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License required.
