The City of Alvin is seeking a construction inspection and project management professional to oversee all phases of municipal projects, ensuring compliance with codes, safety standards, and contract specifications.
Responsibilities include surveying sites, responding to public inquiries, and reporting to the CIP Project Manager; the ideal candidate has at least five years in construction inspection and an associate degree is preferred, with a valid driver’s license.
Under general supervision, monitors, inspects and provides project management services for all phases of City construction projects, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, ordinances, standards of quality, standards of safety, and contract specifications. Surveys construction sites as required; responds to public inquiries and complaints regarding construction and other field activities. Performs related work as required. The incumbent must be able to perform specialized tasks in a highly independent manner. Reports to the CIP Project Manager.
Requires experience in civil construction, engineering or inspection, or related field supplemented by a minimum of five years of progressively responsible construction inspection experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Associate degree in engineering technology, drafting or related field desired.
Must possess a valid state driver's license.
Starting Salary $22.95/hr.
